I wrote this WoW guide for anyone who is brand stinking new to the game, and is interesting in getting some tips and tricks to get started with the game. Now, since you're reading this WoW beginner's guide I'm going to assume that you're either looking for information to the game before buying it, or you have already got the game and need some help. Well, whatever situation you're current in is fine because this guide is going to answer some of those questions for you. What Exactly is Worlds of Warcraft? To put it simply World of Warcraft is a Massive Multiplayer Online Fantasy Game that most people usually refer to as MMORPG. The idea of any MMORPG is to setup an virtual world that is usually fantasy base, and allow a massive number of video gamer to be able play and interact with each other in this "world". And in World of Warcraft's case that virtual world is called Azeroth. As with all mmoprgs your objective in WoW is to create a hero or character, and level it up. However, apart from leveling up your character in WoW there are many other things that you can do. Such as making new friend, faction wars, getting better equipment for your character, and much more. That's all for a brief overview on what WoW is, but if you want to get to know the game better then go and start playing the game now. Reading words, guides, and tips will only get you so far. Basic MovementAnyway, moving your character in WoW require the use of 6 movement keys on your keyboard and the 2 mouse buttons. The W key moves your character forward, the S key moves your character backwards, the A key turns your character to the left, the D key turns your character to the right, the Q key strafe your character to the left, the E key strafe your character to the right, right mouse button spins your camera, and finally the left mouse buttons turns your character. As you can see both the A, D, and the left mouse button turns your character, however your left mouse button is not restricted in the direction of the turning. So, it is obvious that most players would not use the A and D keys for turning. Instead they use the left mouse button to turn their character while using W and S key to move forward and backward. Once you get a good handle on moving your character; the next thing you should learn is to get a good understanding of the User Interface. The User Interface in WoW allows the player to control all aspects of his or her character. Learning the User InterfaceCharacter Info Menu - This menu is located on the top left corner of the screen. The menu contain a 3D portrait of your character as well as your character’s health and mana/focus/rune/combat/rage bar. Mini Map - The mini map is located on the top right hand corner of your screen, and it provides and bird's eye view of the areas around you. One really cool aspect of the mini map is that it can be manually tweaked for better viewing. Chat Menu - The chat menu displays all combat and system logs. And it allows you to communicate with all other WoW player that is online. The UI Bar - The UI bar is located on the bottom of your screen, and it is very long. Another very important piece of your overall UI is the UI bar. The UI bar is located at the bottom of your screen and it is very long.It is divided into 3 sections; the first of section on the left hand side is the Action Bar. The action bar is what you use to have quick access to all your skills, spells, equipment, potions, and any other useable items. The bar next to your action bar is called the Menu Bar. In the menu bar you can access many game options such as graphic setting, sound setting, quest log, guild window, etc... Lastly there is the Bag bar which is right next to the menu bar. The bag bar shows all your current bags that you won, and allows you to open them easily. That's all for my brief WoW beginner guide, if you'd like to keep Learning about WoW... I highly propose that you read this WoW class guide. |
